A step back in history, featuring Richard I of England as King, Eleanor of Aquitaine;
Richard's mother is selected as Queen, as she had more power and authority than
that of Queen Berengaria, Richard's wife; the Bishop is Hubert Walter, bishop
of Salisbury, later to become Archbishop of Canterbury; the Knight is represented
by a lion, a symbol of strength and bravery which was adopted by Richard as
part of his coat of arms; the Castle is that of the tower or turret of a medieval
castle; and the Pawn is represented as William Marshall, a famous gladiatorial
knight. Made in a warm Cream and Brown antiqued to highlight the details. KING
